To hold your britches up right!? 🤓 Well, Paul didn’t wear wrangles or parachute pants - but his belt was important to him as it would have held his Tunic from blowing up exposing his “fruit of the looms” and more significantly, used to secure tools - like a sword! So here Paul says to God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist” I find it romantic that Paul begins prescribing how to stand firm using #TRUTH and believe that’s where we too as men should strive to begin. Paul even makes the point to clarify that our belt of truth be buckled - implying that it too be firmly in place... Cocked, Locked, and ready to Rock. What is your TRUTH? Sometimes, I find that my Cognitive Dissonance leaves me searching for confirmation biases to affirm the stories I’ve been conditioned to believe or justify my emotional indifferences. “What did he just say?” Look - I’m simply, but boldly, saying that we can come to believe stories about ourselves, this world, and God that are simply not true - And then find a plethora of ways to justify our investments in those lies to serve our individual campaign! So here’s some truth! *Jesus has always been *Jesus has always known you *You are His beautiful creation *He is jealous for your attention *He endured your justice *He died just for you *He alone defeated death *He is alive right now *He is seated at God’s right hand *He sent The Spirit to help / convict *He is calling your name *It is all about Jesus Love y’all dudes - encouraging you to grab God’s Word today.
